James Douglas Widmer, 55, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on September 21, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Akron, Ohio, on May 3, 1959, to James Victor Widmer and Joan Lou Kunce. He was a graduate of Ooltewah High School and worked most recently at Gestamp North America. Jim loved Tennessee football, NASCAR and working on anything mechanical.

He is survived by his sisters, Diane Widmer Dales and Patricia Ann Widmer, brother-in-law, Ronald Dales, niece, Kristen and nephew, Kevin. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The Reverend Tony Cates will conduct the service on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Please use 988 Donaldson Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412  for GPS directions.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
