Ruthie Chalmers “Cootie”, 68, died on Monday, September 15, 2014 at a local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her son, Maurice Carlisle; parents, John Carlisle and Everlena Blanks; brothers, T. L. Woods, Sr., Cecil L Woods, Sr.; sisters, Pauline Storey, Lena Bailey, Gennell McDuffy, sister-in-law, Louise Woods.

She is survived by her daughter, Mia Hudgins; son Gregory Moses; sisters, Frances (Percy) Hollingsworth, Nonie Sturdivant, Gladys White; brother, Bobby Woods; grandson, William Hudgins, all of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Beatrice Woods; a special friend, Ollie Ford, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 27, at First Baptist of Washington Hills. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery

The body will lie in state on Friday, Sept. 26, after noon, and family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave. 423 622-9995.
