Paul Rankin, 77, of Rocky Face, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home with his family by his bedside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Viola Rankin; and a sister, Roxie Rankin.
He was a member of Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He also worked many years of his life in the chemical adhesive latex business. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan Rankin of Rocky Face; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Teresa Rankin of Rocky Face; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Elaine Rankin of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Jacob and Heather Rankin and Ashley Rankin; three great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Abel Rankin and Jada Green; special cousins, Billy Burnette, Ron Burnette, Lamar Burnette and Eddie Fox.
The funeral service to honor Mr. Rankin’s life will be held Sunday, September 28 at 2 p.m. at the Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hutto and Rev. Dewey Boyd officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home Saturday, September 27, from 6-9 p.m.
