Glenda June Johnson, 74, of Crossville, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her home.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. June was of the Church of God faith. Some of her favorite things to do were reading her Bible, enjoying the outdoors, and bird watching. She worked as both a housekeeper for an area nursing home and then as a caregiver sitting with the elderly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Maggie Johnson; daughter, Anna Dean Dixon; son, Tony Dixon; brothers, W.L., Eugene, Freddy, Larry and Clifford; and sisters, Alice Pendergrass and Joelene Emerton.
She is survived by her four children, Randy Dixon and Sharon Holland, both of Arizona, Kathy Dixon, Ringold and Crystal Dixon, Pikeville;13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, E.J. and Dale Johnson and Elwood Hale; sis sisters, Ruth Frady, Betty Jo Brewer, Margaret Price, Margie Dukes, Selma Ford and Phoebe Brymer; her two caregivers; Donna Wilson and Opal Thompson; a dear friend, Tina Slife; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her faithful companion, Ginger.
A Celebration of June’s Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, September 29, at 1 p.m. with Rev. James Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Collier Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28 from 4-9 p.m.
