The Georgia Northwestern Lady Bobcats fell to 2-4 overall on the season after a second straight gut-wrenching, five-set loss on Friday night, this time at home to Hiwassee College (Tenn.).

GNTC won the first set, 25-19, only to see the Lady Tigers tie the match with a 25-14 win in the second set. The Lady Bobcats took the third set, 26-24, but Hiwassee claimed a 25-22 victory in the fourth set before winning the tiebreaker, 15-8.

It was the second loss to Hiwassee for the Lady Bobcats this season. The Lady Tigers claimed a four-set win in Madisonville back on Sept. 8.

GNTC will hit the road Sunday for their longest and most important trip of the season. The Lady Bobcats will make the four-hour drive to Morristown, Tenn. to do battle with Walters State Community College with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Region X Tournament later this fall.

This is the first time in GNTC volleyball history that the Lady Bobcats will compete for a spot in the NJCAA Regionals.

The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
