Simon Peter Reese, 84, of Chickamauga, died on Sunday, September 28, 2014.

He was born to the late Frank and Ethel Woodall Reese in Woodvine, Ky., and was a devoted member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. Simon served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from The Kroger Co. in 1990 after 37 years. Simon dedicated his life to serving the Lord in many multiple ministries. "A Good and Faithful Servant."

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel Reese; siblings, Everet, Elbert, Egar, George, Estill, Eva Tee, and Lucy Marie; and son-in-law, Ronald "Joe" Faul.

Simon is survived by his daughter, Linda (Gary) Robinson of Virginia; grandson, Brian (Myra) Faul of Chickamauga; great granddaughter, Ella; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Anchor of Hope Baptist Church, with Pastor Brian Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and after noon on Thursday until the funeral at Anchor of Hope Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
