The Grace Academy girls' soccer team secured their third win of the season on Tuesday night beating East Ridge High School by a score of 7-0.

The Lady Golden Eagles were paced by senior Liz Mouw who scored twice and added an assist in the victory.  Having netted three goals in the first half, Grace put the game out of reach with two quick goals to open the second half of play.

Danielle Shumaker contributed two goals with Maddie Farrell, Emily Clark and Abigail Smith rounding out the scoring.

Grace was anchored by a strong defensive effort throughout from senior sweeper Holly Badger and fellow senior Lauren Petit whose solid play in goal earned the shutout.  Emily Clark controlled the midfield again for Grace adding 3 assists to her season total.

Grace (3-1, 1-0) will play Silverdale Academy on Thursday in a match that should determine the top of the District 5-A standings.

In the span of a person’s life, there are some things that simply can’t be explained to be totally understood. And of all the spectacles I have ever personally witnessed, one of the best is that day in late July when they “pen the ponies” at Chincoteague Island, Va. I’m serious. Over 50,000 people watch every year as volunteer “Saltwater Cowboys” swim the wild ponies to the mainland ... (click for more)
