Leon York, 86, of Whiteside, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his home. 

He attended The Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Rosie York; daughter, Joyce Ann York; and all of his brothers and sisters except one. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Edna Lois York; children, Charles E. York, David E. York, Robert A. York, Rayford L. York and Donald R. York; sister, Carrie Mae Davis; five grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters. 

Services will be at 11 a.m., CST Friday, September 5, in the chapel of Tate Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Kilgore and Reverend Quillien Thurman will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens West.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, at the Tate Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.

Mildred Louise Hall Lawson, 94, of Kimball, Tennessee, died on  Sunday, May 29, 2016  at her home. Arthur F. Lovain, 85, of Delano, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at an Etowah health care facility.  He raised, trained and showed Arabian horses for 40 plus years.  He retired from Chrysler Motors after 32 years working in skilled trades. Child Bitten By Dog In Bradley County

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a child who was bitten by a dog. While saturating an area in Bradley County, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling on the roadway with a child not restrained and sitting in a passenger’s lap inside the vehicle. Man Rescued From The Pocket Wilderness On Saturday
