James Underwood
James Ronald Underwood, 60, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Monday, September 30, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
James graduated from Ider, Al. High School in 1971. He worked for many years in the local yarn industries and as a truck driver and for the last 15 years at Aztec Industries. He was a loving father, grandfather and talented musician. His family meant the world to him and today there is one more angel watching over them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Underwood, brother, Harold Underwood, sisters, Faye and Glenda Underwood.
Survivors include his daughters, Joyce Ann (Justin) Ingle, Jessica Lynn Underwood, Lindsay Denise Underwood, stepchildren, Robin Ashley Phillips, Brandon Elijah Phillips, David Bradley Phillips, fiancé and best friend, Amy Elizabeth Phillips, his mother, Sarah Magalane Underwood, brothers, Bobby, Eddie, Donnie and Michael Underwood and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Brother Jamey Eggert officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
