Rhea Deputy Shoots And Kills Man Who Was Arrested For Domestic Assault And Taken To Rhea Hospital

A Rhea County deputy has shot and killed a man who was arrested for domestic assault and taken to the Rhea County Hospital.

The early morning incident happened at the hospital after 23-year-old Steven Howell allegedly argued with two deputies and grabbed one of their guns.

Authorities said Howell had prior domestic assault charges.

The case has been turned over to the TBI.
