Police Blotter: Woman Says Neighbor Pitches Rat Into Her Yard

Deranda McCade of Caneadea Trail told police her neighbor, Ron Jacobs, picked up a rat in his back yard and pitched it over the fence into her back yard.

She said she has surveillance cameras and it was caught on video.

She said she wanted him charged with harassment.

Police said it was a civil matter.

Dakota Mays of Elmwood Drive said a Remington 12-gauge shotgun was stolen from inside his residence.

He said he visited different pawn shops and found his gun at Big Bucks Pawn Shop.

Police were told that a white male, Kasey Rogers, had pawned the shotgun.

A warrant was taken against him for theft under $500.

Officials at Walmart on Highway 153 said a black male took four XBox 360 controllers and a pair of socks without paying.

He was followed out of the store, and he dropped the items in a nearby garbage can. Store personnel recovered the merchandise.

He was wearing a cap that had the words Iron Star in silver lettering.

A woman said she received a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from the IRS.

She was told she owed $2,400.

The woman said she was already dealing with the IRS and thought it pertained to that.

She said she later was told that if she did not pay $300 there would be 25 IRS agents at her door. She was told to put the money on a Green Card obtained at CVS.

The woman said she did a Google check on the man's number and found it was linked to numerous frauds.

She said she called the man back and, when she questioned whether he was a real IRS agent, he yelled and cursed at her. He said if she did not pay, she would not live to see the next day.

Police were summoned to a room at the Super 8 Motel on Birmingham Highway.

Alesha Netherton, who was described as very intoxicated, said her boyfriend had left in their vehicle. She said he was mad because she declined to have sex with him.

Police reminded her she still had a paid room to enjoy for the night and advised that she drink a large glass of water and get some sleep.
