Hutcheson's Women's Center Has 1st Birth Of 2015 In Chattanooga

  • Thursday, January 1, 2015

The Hutcheson Medical Center rang in the New Year with the first baby born in Chattanooga in 2015, welcoming Andrew Bankston, Jr., into the world at 12:01 a.m. The baby boy weighed six pounds 10 ounces and was 19.75 inches long. The proud parents, Malori Patton and Andrew Bankston, celebrated along with the staff of Hutcheson’s Women’s Center the new arrival and the unforgettable start to the New Year.

“We are blessed to be able to start the New Year with our precious son A.J,” said Ms.

Patton.

The Hutcheson Medical Center re-opened its Women’s Center, including its labor and delivery services, on Dec. 15. The center has since seen 22 deliveries, including two babies born on the Women’s Center’s opening day— one of which was an emergency delivery in the Women’s Center parking lot.

“Hutcheson is thrilled to welcome Chattanooga’s first baby of the New Year. To say our Women’s Center at Hutcheson has had an exciting re-opening is a major understatement," said Sandra Siniard, chief nursing officer of the Hutcheson Medical Center.  “We are seeing new life come into Hutcheson every day, and there could not have been a more fitting start to the New Year than to be able to provide quality labor and delivery services to the North Georgia community once again.”
