Winford “W. C.” Sipe, 91, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 in a local health care facility.
Mr. Sipe was the son of the late Teulon Southerland Sipe and Frank L. Sipe; and was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, David Martin; his sisters, Lela Allen, Leutine Stanfield; and his brothers, Glen Sipe, Otis Sipe and an infant brother.
Mr. Sipe was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in W. W. II. He was a well-known Block Mason most of his life. He also served as a Security Guard for several businesses the last being the Village Shopping Center. Along with his wife, he enjoyed going to gospel singings and attending his Church. He loved spending time with his family no matter how big his family grew, he loved having everyone around him. Mr. Sipe was a member of the Kinser Road Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Ruby E. Sipe of Cleveland; his daughters, Stella Myers and her husband Perry, Dianna Maddux and her husband Pat, Loretta Cloar and her husband James all of Cleveland; his sons, Warren Sipe and his wife Faye of Cleveland, Wayne Sipe and his wife Helen of Noonan, GA; his 11 grandchildren; his 17 great-grandchildren, his three great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Melba Hickman; and her husband Donald of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, January 14, at 11 a.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Guinn Green and Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with family serving as casket bearers. Military Honors will be given.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 13 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
