This week marks the nationwide release of “Dixie Street Boys,” a new book about friendship and adventure from author Marelene Wilcox.
“Dixie Street Boys: the Promise” is a story about four neighborhood boys — Gary; his two friends, DJ and Chase; and the newcomer, Zack. Along with Gary’s dog, Buddy, and two wagons, the four boys set out on an adventure in finding treasures.
Upon discovering a tent in the woods, all the boys — except Gary — decide their adventure time has come to an end.
Gary decides to investigate and regrets not going home with the other boys when faced with a dilemma. During his encounter, Gary shares one of the lessons he learned with his friends: Keeping a promise is not always the right thing to do.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Ms. Wilcox has developed a love for reading and writing by reading serial books as a child. She resides in Cleveland, Tennessee, with her husband and family.
