Ease Into Yoga Series Jan. 21-Feb. 11
Continue Ease Into Yoga with a 4-week series on Wed. evenings, 6:30 p.m., beginning Jan.
21
. Instructor Jayne Cagle will offer her special brand of joy-inspiring strength and relaxation techniques in longer, more focused classes.

Winter Workshop: Paddlers - Know Your Knots! Jan. 22
Paddlers of all skill levels can benefit from our next Winter Workshop:Paddlers - Know Your Knots, happening Thurs., Jan. 22, 6:30 p.m.at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. Mike Shillinger, ACA Swiftwater Rescue Instructor, will offer his expertise on the basic knots and ropes used on the river, as well as giving an overview of the types of anchors and mechanical advantage systems used in river rescue situations. No registration is necessary. 
Next Rapid Learning Kayak Skills Practice Feb. 3
The Rapid Learning Whitewater Program will host the next winter kayak skills practice on Tues., Feb. 3 at 7 or 8 p.m., at Southern Adventist University Hulsey Wellness Center's indoor pool. Cost for the kayaking program is free for Rapid Learning members or first time visitors. A $2 pool entrance fee applies. 

Chattanooga Track Club Annual Report and Partners Breakfast Jan. 23
The Chattanooga Track Club will present a public report on their mission and activities on Fri., Jan. 23, 8 a.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. The report will share what the club does, how they do it and the impact that their programs and events have on the community. Interested members of the public who wish to attend must R.S.V.P. via email or by calling (423) 304-0944.

Pint Night and Book Signing with Kirk Eddelmon: 
"Whitewater of the Southern Appalachians" Jan. 16
The public is invited to a pint night benefit to launch Kirk Eddelmon's new guidebook: "Whitewater of the Southern Appalachians," at the Rock/Creek Paddlesports Shop and Outlet, 1530 Riverside Dr., on Fri., Jan. 16, 7 p.m. Eddelmon will be on hand to autograph copies of his book and proceeds from the pint night will benefit the N. Chickamauga Creek Conservancy.

Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival Jan. 17-18
The TN Wildlife Resources Agency and community partners will host the annual TN Sandhill Crane Festivalon Sat. and Sun., Jan. 17 and 18 at the Birchwood School, in Birchwood, TN. The festival features special seminars, activities, Native American music and speakers, and the starts of the show: thousands of migrating Sandhill Cranes at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge.

We recommend getting on the water to see the Sandhill Cranes at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge. The TN Aquarium's River Gorge Explorer will offer special Sandhill Crane viewing cruises on Jan., 9, 10, 11 and 16-19 at either 11 a.m. or 2 p.m.
*National Park Service Fee Free Day Jan. 19
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will offer a fee free day at Point Park on Mon., Jan. 19. All park entrance fees, including commercial tour entrance fees, will be waived. This is a great opportunity to take in one of the most spectacular areas around Chattanooga for free!
*Wild and Scenic Film Festival at UTC Jan. 24
The TN Environmental Council will host the Wild and Scenic Film Festival at the University of TN, Chattanooga's University Center, 642 E. 5th St. on the UTC campus, on Sat., Jan. 24. The national touring festival is a call to action for audiences to be informed and inspired to solve environmental issues throughout the world. The UTC screening will feature a matinee and evening session.
