Anne Cushman Prettyman died peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on January 17, 2015 following a five-year illness.

Services will be held for Anne on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church at 7555 Ooltewah-Georgetown Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363. There will be a reception following the service at the church.

Surviving Anne are her husband and love of her life, Jim. She is also survived by her children, John Douglas Nunn (Brooke and grandson Jack) and Morgan Martinez, and stepchildren, Tom Prettyman (grandchildren Aiden and Michael) and Gregg Prettyman (Barbara and grandchildren, Parker and Zackary).

Following graduation from Converse College, Anne taught for many years in Camden and Sumter, SC and Cobb County, GA. Her true passion was hunting and gathering, as part of her “Anne-tiques” business, and she loved her “junkin’ sisters” so much.

Anne was a lover of all things heavenly, earthly, human and animal. She relished sharing that enthusiasm with all. She greeted everyone with joy, an infectious smile, and a huge hug. She was a cheerleader and inspiration to many. She was quick to tell you her “heart is overflowing with gratitude,” and she lived every moment of every day with that appreciation for all. Anne had a deep faith and a huge heart with a unique ability to make everyone feel special.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Samaritan Center, 9231 Old Lee Highway, Ooltewah, TN 37363.

“Kindness Matters.”

Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
