Gay Lynn Caldwell, 66, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Sunday, January 18, 2015.

Gay Lynn was dedicated to her church at Burks United Methodist. She supported multiple charities surrounding the globe. A loyal patriot, she never missed an opportunity to show her appreciation and support for those who serve. Gay Lynn treasured her four grandchildren as answers to prayer, but above all else gave God all the glory.

Gay Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Caldwell and father, James Richard Smith.

Gay Lynn is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Tony) Smith and Kristen (Tim) Hardy, both of Hixson; grandchildren, Hannah, Jonah, Molly Kate and Jackson; mother, Jackie Smith of Chattanooga; brother, Scott Smith of Columbus, OH.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 12-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, at Burks United Methodist Church with Reverend Sally Ensley, Reverend Amy Nutt and Reverend Rowland Buck officiating.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Gay Lynn’s giving spirt, we ask that you donate to your charity of choice.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
