Stokes Photo Treasure - And Response (2)

  • Wednesday, February 11, 2015

It was good news to learn that former Hamilton County Historian and Chattanoogan.com founder John Wilson has authorized a 3rd edition of the Stokes Photo Book.

Between the cover of this unique publication the reader can view  hundreds of pictures taken of our early Chattanooga/Hamilton County heritage.

Local residents, as well Chattanoogans now working around the globe, can have their personal treasure of hometown history.

Yes, Bill, that book is a treasure.  I ordered one immediately when the initial announcement of the book was made.  At Christmastime, I wanted to give a copy to my 85 year-old brother.  I took my copy to show him and he was fascinated, taking 20 minutes on a story of the very first photo.  Then when I tried to get a second copy, they were sold out after the second printing.  Luckily, John was able to find another copy for me.

You won't find a more valuable treasure for $35 plus shipping.  Any senior Chattanoogan would be delighted with a copy.

This is a wonderful book, a visual treat on every page.
Thanks to the Stokes' descendants and to John Wilson!!
