World War II Veteran Worked At Rossville Mills Over 25 Years

Troy Lewis Cope, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, January 18, 2015.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was the worship minister at Trinity Fellowship in Rock Spring for more than 10 years. He was a corporal in the United States Army having served during World War II and was employed with Rossville Mills for more than 25 years. He was a huge enthusiast of trains and in his younger years had worked with the railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Annie Cope.

Survivors include his longtime sweetheart and caregiver, Yvonne Meyer; extended family, Melinda Meyer, Melody and (Bo) Turner and Josh and (Vanessa) Meyer; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; aunt, Mabel Simmons of Rossville; special companion, Gypsy and numerous extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Jack Green officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Sunday and prior to leaving for the service on Monday at the funeral home.
