A 23-year-old Harrison man has been arrested after police said he confessed to robbing the Kangaroo convenience store on Highway 58.

James Rodger Shirley, of Sportsman Drive, is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

In an incident last Sunday, police were dispatched to the Kangaroo. A female clerk said a white male dressed in a gray jacket, sunglasses and a black toboggan approached the counter. He was armed with a silver revolver.

Police said the man, identified as Shirley, placed a brown paper bag on the counter. The clerk placed cash in it as she was told.

Officers spotted the black 1988 Ford Ranger that Shirley was driving on Highway 153 at Hamill Road. Police said it matched the description of another robbery from a business.

Inside with Shirley were a silver .357 revolver that was loaded and a large amount of cash in his wallet. There was also a black toboggan and a paper bag with loose dollar bills in it.

The clerk at the Kangaroo picked Shirley from a lineup.
