Johnnie "John" DotsonJr., 71, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, January 23, 2015.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Christian faith. He was a United States Army veteran and was previously employed with the City of Chattanooga for more than 15 years as a truck driver. He was a member of AA for more than 30 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Mary Mae Dotson, Sr. and three siblings, Mary Ella Dotson, Margie Lee Dotson and James Berry Dotson.

Survivors include his sister, Ruth Dotson Richardson of Rossville; three nephews, Steve, John and Freddy Richardson; niece, Julie Arledge and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend Richard Foster and Reverend Ray Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
