Jerry Paul Simmons, 55, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Friday, January 23, 2015.
He was born in Rossville, to the late Calvin Woodrow & Doris Evelyn West Simmons. He was a lifelong resident of Rossville and was self-employed in construction work. He was a member of Duncan Park Baptist Church in East Ridge. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, camping and just being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife: Cora Leigh Lowe Simmons of Rossville, their children: Amanda (Janssen) Cannon of Fort Myers, FL, Jeremy (Alida) Simmons of Rossville, Nicole Delashmitt of Chattanooga, brothers: Freeman Simmons of Colorado Springs, CO, Kenny (Peggy) Simmons of Rossville, William Ray (Cynthia) Simmons of Atlanta, grandchildren: Ethan and Abi Covington, Ella Gail Cannon, Bailey Evans, Noah Simmons, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday and Monday from 2–9 p.m. and Tuesday morning prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Jackson and Pastor Bill Gustafson officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Gardens-Mausoleum, Fort Oglethorpe.
