The new UTC library has been open since students returned this semester, but the official grand opening for the facility is Thursday.
The public is invited from 3-7 p.m. for tours, entertainment, refreshments, and fun along with the ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Guided tours will be offered at 3:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Meet in front of the CheckOut desk on the first floor.
There will be live musical performances in the Grand Reading Room: 3:30 p.m. UTC Flute Ensemble, 4:30 p.m. Littleton H. Mason Singers and 6 p.m. UTC Mockingbirds.
Visit Room 207 between 3-7 p.m. to view designs of the building and learn construction information.
Just before remarks begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of the new library (on the Chamberlain Field entrance), witness a part of UTC history when the last book is passed from the Lupton Library to the new library.
Parking is available in the East Fifth Street garage, at 700 East 5th St.
