  • Thursday, January 29, 2015
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area has been awarded $67,000 from Thrivent Financial to support construction of a Habitat home for an area family, as part of the Thrivent Builds program. This is the eighth home in Chattanooga to be built, thanks to Thrivent’s support.

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is an ongoing multi-year, multi-million dollar partnership between Habitat for Humanity International and Thrivent Financial, which helps create safe, decent, affordable housing across the globe.

“Janice Meissner, financial associate, and I are looking forward to our eighth Thrivent Builds project with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area,” said Mark Gluckner, financial consultant at Thrivent Financial. “Our chapter volunteers and Thrivent Financial representatives have a strong relationship with this great affiliate. The Thrivent Builds Homes program gives us an opportunity to work together in the community to build a new home for a wonderful family and live out our mission of helping members be wise with money and live generously.”

Since the national partnership’s inception in 2005, Thrivent Financial and its members have now committed $213 million and 4.4 million volunteer hours around the world.

“We are extremely grateful to Thrivent Financial and its members for their continued support of Habitat for Humanity,” said David Butler, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area. “Because of this generosity, another family in the Greater Chattanooga area will have a safe, affordable place to call home.”
