The children at Signal Centers, 109 North Germantown Road, are again using a highly scientific method in predicting who will win the Super Bowl. The 9th annual Super Bowl tailgating party will be on Friday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The children started predicting the team winner 3 years ago and although the method changes from year to year, they hold a perfect record of 3-0. This year, there will be a Patriots and Seahawks logo at the top of a long sheet of butcher paper hanging on the wall.
Each child will get a little picture of a football and will then glue their football on the paper under the logo of the team they predict.
The event is held each year on the Friday before the Super Bowl with the children wearing their favorite team’s jersey. Each classroom hosts a different activity to encourage both gross and fine motor skills. This year’s athletic endeavors include a ring toss, bean bag toss, ball drop, obstacle course and maze, under the direction of the staff, physical therapists and occupational therapists. After the event, the children are treated to their favorite tailgate snacks.
“I wouldn’t place my bet until the outcome of the Signal Center’s poll is released. The kids are 3-0. The Super Bowl tailgate party offers children of all abilities the chance to celebrate this championship event,” said Donna McConnico, Signal Centers CEO. “Our little champs get some exercise, fun activities, and social interaction. What could be better?”
Signal Centers, Inc. serves both children with disabilities and children who are typically-developing children, age 6 weeks to 5 years.
