Niswonger, Allen "Randy" Rand

 Allen “Randy” Rand Niswonger, 57, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Tuesday January 27, 2015.

A resident of the Ringgold area for the past 5 years, he and was formerly of Milan, Georgia. Randy was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and a former employee of Covington Theological Seminary where he worked as registrar, dean of students and professor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Niswonger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Oleta Sherwood Niswonger of Ringgold; mother, Barbara Merrill Niswonger of Rossville; two children, Kristina R. (Jonathan) Sumner of Bonaire, GA and Joshua Matthew (Amber) Niswonger of Thomasville, GA; three brothers, Merrill (Tanya) Niswonger of Chattanooga, Tom Niswonger Jr. of Hixson, and William “Bill” (Bobbi) Niswonger of Chattanooga; one granddaughter, Ellison Niswonger, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 31, at New Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Henson and Reverend Greg Carroll officiating.

He will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.  

Interment will follow at New Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
