Feb. 6

Ocoee Story Fest

Cleveland

Hosted by the Cleveland Storytelling Guild, the 21st annual Ocoee Story Fest will feature Kim Weitkamp, who is known for her unique style of storytelling through speech, humor, and music. Festivities will be held at the Museum Center at 5ive Points in Cleveland, Tenn., starting at 7 p.m. Admission to the festival is $5 per person and $15 maximum for families. Fog Festival

Monteagle

The Fog Festival takes place on Valentine's Day weekend in the Monteagle community. During this three-day event local businesses and organizations host fun activities, open houses, and give patrons an opportunity to receive discounts on merchandise. Pink and red heart-shaped signs are placed outside participating businesses and inside each location is a complete list of activities hosted during the weekend. Previous activities have included "throw your own pot" at Hallelujah Pottery, musical performances at Jim Oliver's Smoke House, and a Lucy Webb Millsaps art exhibit. John Studdard Memorial Gospel & Cousin Jake Bluegrass Festival

The 21st annual Cousin Jake Bluegrass Festival will be held on Saturday, March 7, along with the 7th Annual John Studdard Gospel Concert the night before on Friday, March 6, 2015. This two-day bluegrass festival will feature some of the finest bluegrass artists in the region at the historic Gem Theater in Etowah, Tenn. Great Southern Old Time Fiddlers’ Convention

Chattanooga

The 2015 Great Southern Old Time Fiddlers' Convention will be held on Saturday, March 14th, beginning at 12:00 noon at historic Lindsay Street Hall in Chattanooga, Tenn. Contest is all old-time music and dance, all acoustic, no mics/amps/PAs. For more information, visit www.oldchattanooga.com.

Waterfalls Weekend

Photography seminars, hikes and driving tours to multiple waterfalls are offered at Fall Creek Falls during Waterfalls Weekend, as well as excursions to more remote areas to see the lesser visited waterfalls of the park and surrounding area. Multicultural Fair

Enjoy a day of diverse food and international entertainment at the Multicultural Fair hosted by the Cleveland State Community College International Studies Committee. The day begins with a parade of nations at 9:45 a.m. along the college campus. Festivities will continue inside the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium with informational booths about different nationalities, children’s games, live performances, and organization displays. The event is free to the public. Bass Pro Shops “Battle of Chickamauga” High School Open Bass Tournament

Dayton

Dayton will play host to the Bass Pro Shops “Battle of Chickamauga” High School Open Bass Tournament March 27-28, 2015. Students will have the chance to win up to $50,000 for landing the next state record for largemouth bass (currently 14.6 pounds). This inaugural Bassmaster High School event on Lake Chickamauga will be one of the largest high school competitive bass fishing events in the nation. Join the Sequatchie Valley Institute staff and friends along with the ragwort, dwarf buckeye, phlox, bloodroot, trout lily, trilliums, wild geranium, redbuds, and dogwoods in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley for spring wildflower hikes. The hikes will be accompanied by naturalists, foresters, and bio-enthusiasts familiar with the geography, ecology and biology of the area.
