Calvin O. Parker, 89, died on January 28, 2015 in the loving arms of Hospice Care.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served as a gunner on a destroyer in the Pacific Fleet. He was a deacon in his lifelong church, White Oak Baptist. He retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Lucille; brother, Neal Parker and wife Jane; daughters, Judy Young and husband Mack, Joy Ingram and husband, Jere; grandchildren,  Kimbrily Young Papadimitriou and husband George, Mack Young Jr., and Matthew Ingram; great-grandchildren, Madison Young and Apollo Papadimitriou.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 2, at the Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace,  Chattanooga, from 11:30 a.m.-  p.m.

The service will immediately follow officiated by Pastor Tony Wilson. Burial will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, Hospice Care, or charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the care of Lane Funeral on Ashland Terrace, 423 877-3524.
