Dalton State Golf Teams Help With Special Olympics

Dalton State's men's and women's golfers were out in force Friday as volunteers for the basketball portion of Special Olympics, held at Mack Gaston Community Center in Dalton. The Roadrunner athletes helped with every phase of the event, which was held at both of the center's gymnasiums.

Dalton State athletics have adopted Special Olympics as one of its opportunities to give back to the community.

Dalton State is a proud participant in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics "Champions of Character" program. All athletes participate in volunteer opportunities in the community. Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity enjoy the support of the entire department.

In addition, teams are participating this season in volunteering at  Kiwanis Club of Dalton Pancake Day,The Susan G Komen Color Run and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the Raider Nation Food Drive, and many more worthwhile events in northwest Georgia.
