Dr. Martin Ringstaff
The Cleveland School Board on Thursday will consider a new four-year contract for School Director Dr. Martin Ringstaff.
Dr. Ringstaff is in his fourth year as the school director. He serves on the Common Core Leadership Council for the Tennessee Department of Education. Dr. Ringstaff is one of 28 school superintendents chosen from across the country to participate in the inaugural class of the AASA National Superintendent Certification Program.
Before coming to Cleveland, he was the director of personnel and support services in the Bristol, Va., Public Schools. He has also been a high school teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal and principal.
He gained his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va., masters degree from The George Washington University, Washington D.C., and doctoral degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
Dr. Ringstaff is married to Heather Ringstaff, a math teacher at Cleveland High School. They have three children, including son, Colby, and twin daughters, Jayden and Jordan.
The contract calls for an initial salary of $134,520, with later percentage and step increases.
He is to receive $600 per month car allowance, full insurance, a personal communication device and payment to an annuity each year equal to three percent of his salary.
