Ravenell Crane Wooten, 91, of Chickamauga, Georgia died, surrounded by her loving family on Friday evening, January 30, 2015.
The last of the Crane children of the late John Oliver Crane II and Mary Adaline Thomas of Young Harris, Georgia. She had lived most of her life in Northwest Georgia. She was a homemaker and had also worked outside the home at Richmond Hoisery, Dr. Irwin's office, S. S. Kresge and Osburn School. She was a Christian and a member of Rossville Church of Christ and a former member of Mountain View Church of Christ. She enjoyed bird watching, mowing grass, being outdoors and loved dogs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and was known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Chester Lee Wooten, their infant son: Steven Ray Wooten, four sisters and seven brothers.
She is survived by her daughter: Suzanne Wooten, sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald Lee and Brenda Wooten all of Chickamauga, GA, Philip Gary & Jeanne Wooten of Martinsburg, WV, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Barbara Smith, Tonya Sexton and Hearth Hospice for all their care and love they gave to Mrs. Revenell Crane Wooten.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 1, from 2-8 p.m. and Monday morning prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 2, at noon in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Jack James and Chris Barnett officiating, along with Charlie Phillips speaking. Burial will take place at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park – Rossville.
