Gary Land Retires At Chattanooga Area Schools Federal Credit Union

Gary Land has retired after serving as president/CEO of the Chattanooga Area Schools Federal Credit Union since 1981.

Mr. Land was honored at a reception held at the Tivoli Theatre on Sunday.

During his tenure, the credit union grew from $12 million in assets to $145 million.

He was instrumental in developing the bonus dividend and interest rebate program, which has paid over $7.1 million back to members since 1994.

The annual Christmas Cash Giveaway, which awards $500 to at least 50 members each year in a drawing, began during his tenure.

Mr. Land said during his 34 years his most rewarding accomplishment has been "helping members with excellent service and great rates that enable them to have a better quality of life."
