A carjacking victim two days after Christmas outside the Woodlawn Apartments testified Tuesday that Hollis Jeff Malone put a silver handgun to his head during the incident.

Ronald Blackwell said Malone, who had just turned 18, demanded cash and his cell phone. He said he turned over the phone, then got out of the 2012 VW Jetta and ran.

General Sessions Court Judge Gary Starnes raised the bond on the carjacking from $60,000 to $100,000. The bond on a criminal conspiracy count stays at $10,000.

The victim said he could not identify the two gunmen who got in the back seat of his vehicle. He said both wore hoodies.

He said he had gone to the Woodlawns to visit a female cousin, who turned out not to be home. He went to her apartment for help, then went next door where "some kids" let him use a phone to dial 911.

The witness said he had stopped to talk to a female friend of his cousin when the robbers came up.

The victim, who just turned 20, said, "I work and go to school. I don't bother anybody."

Det. Jason Wood said the Jetta was located at College Hills Court and it led police from several different agencies on a high-speed chase through East Chattanooga to Brainerd and back through the tunnels. He said, "It was high speed. A lot of people were put in jeopardy - police officers as well."

It was found the car was driven by a 16-year-old girl, who said she had been directed to do so.

Malone was in the vehicle when it was finally stopped.
