Bradley (Brad) Scott Hudson, 47, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015.
Born Sept. 25, 1968, in Chattanooga, Brad was a graduate of Tyner High School (Class of '86) and became a carpenter by trade. Brad knew his way around a toolbox as well as any. Carpentry, painting, remodeling, plumbing or rebuilding - he and his hammer were always ready to work.
Brad could also handle a fishing rod as well, if not better, than he could a hammer. He loved the outdoors and relished every opportunity to enjoy nature whether it was hunting, fishing or just watching the wildlife around his home.
Brad was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Hudson, his grandmother, Margaret Giles Hudson, his grandfather, Zeke Hufstetler and his aunt, Sandra Hudson.
Survivors include his mother, Deborah Hufstetler Bagley; sisters, Rebecca Hudson Campbell and Bridget Galbreath, all from Hendersonville, Tennessee; his grandmother, Rachel Hufstetler of Chatsworth, and grandfather, Charles Hudson, who shared his home with Brad in the last years of his life; aunt, Barbara (Richard) Simms; uncle, John (Linda) Hufstetler; nephews, Landon Agree and Deacon Campbell; nieces, Meghan Downing and Kayla Dorr. Brad is also survived by a host of people he considered his family, Lynda and "Big" John Rogers, Samantha Allen and especially, Tristin McKelvy. Brad's passing leaves an empty spot in many, many lives, but his presence and influence on those he touched will live forever.
A memorial service will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend George Ross and Dr. Mark Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
