Baylor Soccer Wins 2-1 Over Pope John Paul II

The Baylor Red Raider girls soccer team celebrated senior night Monday with a 2-1 win over region rival Pope John Paul II. 

Carter Cooper scored Baylor's first goal in the 26th minute with an assist from Lainee Bohannon. 

Baylor led 1-0 at the half. 

Baylor scored their second goal in the 48th minute when Lainee Bohannon scored off a cross by Mary Elizabeth Clements.  

JPII's Catherine Meyer scored in the 67th minute but the visitors could not find the equalizer.

"I am so proud of our seniors," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said.  "They have been through so much but have all been very loyal to the program. These are five great young women that will do very well in college and life."

Baylor keeper Peyton Randolph had two saves.  JPII keeper Grace Lascara had seven saves. 

Baylor improves to 10-3-4 overall and 3-1-1 in the region.
