Chattanooga Mocs men’s golf sophomore Andrew Weathers made it a trifecta Tuesday afternoon at Berkeley Hills Country Club. Weathers’ tie for 10th marked the third different UTC golfer to post a top 10 through four events on the year.
Weathers ended up at 1-under par 215. That put him one ahead of teammate Wes Gosselin who closed with a 3-under 69 to shoot E for his third event tying for 16th.
“I struggled with my putting a lot yesterday, but I got a few more to fall today,” Gosselin explained.
“Honestly, I didn't feel good about the way I played (for the week). It's definitely good to have pretty good results when you don't feel you played your best.”
Like Gosselin, Stuart Thomas shot his best round of the tourney with a 71 (-1) today to end up with a 4-over 220. Kory Webb rounded out the team’s 291 with a 75 (+3). He shot 234 for the 54 holes.
Brooks Thomas struggled with an 82 finishing fourth among the Mocs at 225. Lake Johnson ended with a season-best 73 (+1) to shoot 233 playing as an individual.
Lipscomb ran away with the team title with a tournament-record 839 (-25). South Florida was second at -17 (847) with Troy a distant third at E (864). The Bisons’ Dawson Armstrong won medalist honors with a 16-under 200, also a new tourney mark.
The Mocs close out the fall slate Oct. 25-26 at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate. Live scoring links are available on GoMocs.com and fans can follow @GoMocsMGLF on Twitter.
