Florence Mary McConkey, 76, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at her residence.
Born on April 20, 1938 in Detroit, MI to the late Julius and Eleanor Bogdonivitz Iwasko, she had lived a majority of her life in McMinn County. She retired after 33 years of service from Thomas and Betts and attended Lakeview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bud” McConkey.
She is survived by sons, Gary McConkey and wife Anna of Tellico Plains and Doug McConkey and wife Lisa of Athens; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
