The St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Players present William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. in McCrory Hall for the Performing Arts.
Review for Comedy of Errors:
The 35-student ensemble will present the comedy using 36 individually handcrafted masks. These masks were made by the students over a period of many weeks. Director John Holleman guided the process of both creating the masks and teaching the art of masked performance. The result is wonderfully engaging, harkening back to sixteenth century commedia dell’arte.
Due to the play’s length and humor, its is an excellent introduction to Shakespeare. This production is very suitable for younger children.
Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available at the door.
