First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga will celebrate its pastor, Dr. Gary L. Carver in a service of worship this
Sunday, at 11 a.m. The service will commemorate 50 years of ministry by this long-time Chattanooga pastor. First Cumberland is at 1505 N.
Moore Road in Chattanooga, and the general public is invited to attend.
The service will include a sermon by Dr. Carver, and celebratory music provided by Dr. Jonathan Crutchfield, inSpirit Men's Chorus, and the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir.
Dr. Carver has served churches in Alabama, Indiana, and Tennessee. He holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div) and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was also awarded the Charles E. Merrill Fellowship to study at Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Dr. Gary Carver has been the senior pastor at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 2008. He had previously been the pastor at First Baptist Church of Chattanooga on Gateway Avenue.
