U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career With First Tennessee Bank

Willie Elton McClure, Jr., 83, died on October 2, 2015 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 

He was a graduate of Howard High School and studied computer science at Chattanooga State Community College. He had worked for 35 years at First Tennessee Bank as a computer operator.

Willie had served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was a member of Phillips Temple CME Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie E. and Fannie Sparks McClure, Sr. and brother, Norman McClure.

Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Rosa J. McClure; sister, Delores Jackson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at Phillips Temple CME Church with Reverend Robert G. Henry, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Oct. 8, and the family will receive friend from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
