McMinn County Schoolteacher Chosen As Intel Education Visionary

  • Wednesday, October 7, 2015

Jill Pierce, a McMinn County Schools teacher, on Wednesday morning was named one of the Intel Education Visionaries, a global group of approximately 40 education leaders at the forefront of classroom transformation. These educators come from all over the world and represent a diverse mix of cultures, but share a passion for empowering student success through the integration of technology and curriculum.

Ms. Pierce was selected as an Intel Education Visionary on the basis of her insight, passion and proven experience as an agent of change in education, said officials. As a Visionary, Ms. Pierce will work closely with Intel Education to communicate the power of technology in education; inspire and share best practices with educators, administrators and parents worldwide; and provide Intel with input on what educators need from technology.

From Oct. 11-14, Ms. Pierce will attend the Intel Education Visionaries kickoff event at Intel’s headquarters in Santa Clara, Ca., which will serve as the official launch of the program. More details about the program are available here.
