Scenic Land Company Hosts Brow Wood's Fall Festival Saturday

  • Wednesday, October 7, 2015

Developers of Brow Wood are offering a free fall festival to introduce their community to the public. ‘Chill on the Hill’ will take place on Saturday from 2-9 p.m.

The neighborhood will offer hayride tours, bar-b-que, smores, Clumpie’s ice cream, and live music. Throughout the afternoon, football fans will enjoy viewing their favorite games from the community’s center.

Developed by Scenic Land Company as envisioned by Dr. Frank Brock serving as the president of the non-profit organization AALC, the neighborhood has many homes ready to welcome owners with several more under construction.

Brow Wood features two settings in the community. The Western Brow features brow and brow-view lots where all homes are a short walk from the community garden and outdoor pavilion featuring mountain views, outdoor fire place and bocce ball court. The neighborhood also features a cascading waterfall and pond.

Located across the street is the Eastern Woodlands, home sites for townhomes and cottages and Thrive at Brow Wood, which is the community’s monthly rental Assisted and Independent Living with secure memory care.

Developer Duane Horton noted that all four cottages for independent living have been reserved with deposits. More are scheduled for construction due to the increased demand. The neighborhood’s assisted living facility is 80 percent complete and will open by the end of the year.

Brow Wood fosters true health for every season of life among its residents, said officials.  The neighborhood is designed to enable residents to remain in their homes until the need arises for full time support in Brow Wood Assisted Living.

The community emphasizes activity, health, choice, ownership and service. They are welcoming residents from across the country as they choose to relocate to the area.

The total project costs including single-family homes is anticipated to exceed $50 million once completed.

Mr. Horton said, “Brow Wood was designed to encourage a sense of community at every stage of life. From couples and families looking to enjoy the beauty of Lookout Mountain in a location just 20 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, to those seeking a relaxed atmosphere, Brow Wood provides the perfect setting.”

Located one mile south of Covenant College, high atop Lookout Mountain on 150 acres, Brow Wood features low-maintenance living with architecturally designed homes and townhomes on the Western Brow. Cottages, independent living options and a comprehensive state-of-the-art assisted living facility all provide home health service options, said officials.
