New York Times Best Selling Author Ayelet Waldman Book Signing Set For Thursday At The Chattanooga Public Library

  • Wednesday, October 7, 2015

Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library announces that Ayelet Waldman, New York Times Best Selling author will be at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library, 1001 Broad Street, Fourth Floor, between from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ayelet Waldman will be speaking about her writing process and her latest book LOVE AND TREASURE. The above portion of the event is free to the public.

There will be a Meet the Author Reception from 5-6:15 p.m. for $20, where attendees will be receiving an autographed copy of her most recent novel, LOVE AND TREASURE, and also a photo opportunity with Ms. Waldman. Tickets are available at the door for the Meet the Author Reception for $20 per guest.

The Friends of the Library and the Jewish Community Federation are collaborating in bringing Ms. Waldman to Chattanooga.

Her finest novel to date, LOVE AND TREASURE, is a spell-binding story of contraband masterpieces and valuables, weaving a tale around the fascinating true history of the Hungarian Gold Train in WWII which was filled with unspeakable riches confiscated from the Jewish population by the Nazis.  A story of brilliantly drawn characters, LOVE AND TREASURE, is a sad, funny, richly-detailed work that poses hard questions about the value of precious things in a time when life itself has no value.

Other books by Ms. Waldman include: Red Hook RoadA Chronicle of Maternal Crimes, Minor Calamities and Occasional Moments of Grace, Love and Other Impossible Pursuits, Mommy Track Mysteries. Her essays have appeared in the New York Times, Vogue, Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. Radio commentaries have been broadcast on All Things Considered, and the California Report. Ms. Waldman is married to author Michael Chabon, and they have four children.
