Police Say Murphy, Mullis Involved In Incident In Which Woman Was Shot Outside Hixson Walmart

Anthony Lee Mullis, 21, is facing several charges including attempted aggravated robbery on Sept. 28.

 

    In that incident, the victim was found at the Hixson Walmart with a gunshot wound to her hip.

 

She stated that she had agreed to meet with the defendant in the parking lot to buy some “Roxys” or Oxycodone, but that when she arrived, she saw he was already there in a white sedan and he had an unknown man with him.

 

When she asked the defendant why the additional man was there, the man opened the passenger side door and pointed a gun at her, saying, “B----, Give me the money.”

     

She said that she told him she didn’t have any money and he shot her.

     

The victim’s brother was in the back seat at the time of the incident and he stated that he saw his sister get shot. He also said that he exited the car, but the man pointed the gun at him too.

     

After investigation, police said the alleged shooter was identified as Benjamin James Murphy, and Mullis was charged with attempted aggravated robbery, possession of methamphetamine, accessorry after the fact, and failure to appear.

 

Murphy has also been arrested.
