The first road trip of the 2015-2016 campaign was a tough one for the Georgia Northwestern Lady Bobcats, who fell to 0-3 on the young season with an 83-39 loss to Oakwood University in Huntsville.
The Lady Ambassadors held Georgia Northwestern to just 11 points in the first half as the Lady Bobcats had trouble adjusting away from the friendly confines of the Rossville Athletic Center.
Ashley Farrell and Sprite Dyer paced the Lady Bobcats with nine points each, followed by Katy Phillips with seven and Haley Blevins with five.
Jacqui Jones poured in 20 for Oakwood, while Christy Harris went for 14.
Oakwood also enjoyed a 47-36 edge on the boards. Madison Lewis and C.C. Ludy had five rebounds each to lead the Lady Bobcats.
Both the Bobcats and Lady Bobcats will be in action this weekend at the Welch College Flames Invitational in Nashville. Both teams will be back at home on Tuesday for a doubleheader at the R.A.C. The Lady Bobcats will take on the Brenau University JV squad at 5 p.m., followed by the Bobcats' clash with the LaGrange College JV.
