Pioneers' Moore, Malone 3-3A Player, Coach Of Year

Irish's Darras, Enos Garner Top Offense, Defense Honors

Undefeated East Ridge dominated Region 3-3A football this season and tailback Traneil Moore and coach Tracy Malone have walked off with the top regular-season honors.

Moore has been named 2015 Player of the Year and Malone is Coach of the Year. Also, East Ridge’s Hubert Roberson was selected Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Pioneers take a 12-0 record into Friday’s third-round playoff game against Notre Dame at Raymond James Stadium.

The 10-0 regular season was the first in East Ridge history.

Notre Dame quarterback Alex Darras was voted the region’s Offensive Player of the Year and linebacker Tyler Enos the Defensive Player of the Year. Enos is a Mr. Football semifinalist.

Chattanooga Christian’s Will Patton and Red Bank’s Sandi Beganovic shared the special team Player of the Year.

Matthew Mercer of Chattanooga Christian, which lost to East Ridge in the second round last week, was voted the Quarterback of the Year; Notre Dame’s Ricky Ballard Running Back of the Year; Signal Mountain’s Layton Teal Wide Receiver of the Year; the Irish’s Patrick Johnson Tight End of the Year and Tre Hubbard of East Ridge and Colton Miller of Signal Mountain the Co-Offensive Linemen of the Year.

Three players – East Ridge’s Jeremiah McKibben, Red Bank’s Tre Stamper and Notre Dame’s Robert Murphy – shared the Defensive Lineman of the Year honors.

CCS’s Nick Fulmer and Jack Chandler of Signal Mountain are Co-Linebackers of the Year while East Ridge’s Jesse Jones and Brandon Mason of CCS the  Co-Defensive Back of the Year.

Notre Dame’s Andrew Banks and T.J. Smith of CCS were honored as Athletes of the Year.

The All-Region 3-3A squad:

East Ridge – Pete Sexton, Quasey Vinson, Lorenzo Stewart, Deondre Chambliss, Dominique Millener, Jordan Harvey.

Notre Dame – Nick Grannan, Tommy Kulik, Sam Stovall, Calvin Sims, Cameron Wynn.

Red Bank – Couvousier Bell, Ivan Young and Michael Porter.

Howard – Vincent Bowling, Jahmani Thomas

Signal Mountain – Colin Weigert, Ta’Darrell Hodge

Chattanooga Christian – Tyler Pope, Ian Gaines, Justin Wheeler, D.J. Toney
