The Georgia Northwestern Bobcats left Rock Spring on Friday, still in search of their first win of the new season.
They returned Saturday night a game over .500.
After pulling away late to beat Trinity Baptist (Fla.), 68-58, in the first round of the Welch College Invitational on Friday, the Bobcats hammered Appalachian Bible College of West Virginia on Saturday, 90-43.

Christopher Ellis had 15 points and seven rebounds, while Darrius Fugh popped in 13 points, grabbed a team-high eight boards and came up with five steals in Friday’s win over the Eagles.
The Bobcats, who trailed 34-30 at halftime, used a big run late in the game.
Tied at 55 apiece with five minutes to play, Georgia Northwestern switched to a full-court press and forced several Trinity turnovers as the Bobcats finished the game on a 13-3 run to pick up their first win of the season.
Ten different players got in the scorebook for the Bobcats. Tyler Shropshire finished with nine points, followed by Cameron Sherlin with eight.

The Bobcats, who never trailed in the contest, sucked all the life out of their opponents toward the end of the first half.
After ABC had cut the lead to just four points with six minutes to go, the Bobcats went to the press and stormed out to a 51-25 lead at halftime. Things would only get worse for ABC in the second half as the Bobcats held them to 18 second-half points and coasted to the win.
Ellis had 15 points and Nathan Spivey added 14 in the victory. Shropshire went for nine points and five assists, while Sherlin also had nine points.
Sam Mansfield at 20 points for the Warriors, while Josh Bishop added 11.
The Bobcats (2-1) will host the LaGrange College junior varsity squad Tuesday at the Rossville Athletic Center at 7 p.m. They will make the short drive up Lookout Mountain on Thursday to face the Covenant College junior varsity squad and will conclude the week with an away game at the Crown College in Powell, Tn. on Saturday.
