Chattanooga Has Four Mr. Football Finalists

If Baylor's Ryan Parker, Traneil Moore of East Ridge, Jake Harden of Boyd Buchanan and Ooltewah's Jeremiah Jackson have not met one another as of today, they will in two weeks as each of them is a finalist for the 2015 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Award.

The awards luncheon will be held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville Monday Nov.

Harden is up for the Class 2A lineman of the year, while Parker is one of two nominee's for the D-II AA best lineman.

Moore and his 2,000 plus rushing yards is one of two candidates for the Class 3A back of the year and Jackson is a finalist for the Class 5A lineman of the year.

Notes: Jake Harden led the Bucs to a 12-1 season and a region title ... The two candidates for D-II AA lineman of the year -Ryan Parker of Baylor and Bryce Matthews of Brentwood Academy - face each other Friday night in a state semifinal game at B.A. ... Parker will attend Notre Dame next fall and is a preferred walk-on ... he is all-state in football and a three-time state wrestling champion ..Zack Weatherly of CPA goes against Traneil Moore for the 3A back of the year ... Moore has also been selected as the Region 3-3A back of the year ... Weatherly is the son of former All-SEC quarterback at Ole Miss in the early 1960s and nationally-known song writer (#1 Midnight Train to Georgia) Jim Weatherly ... Zack has committed to attend UTC next fall ... East Ridge and CPA are in opposite halves of the 3A bracket and play quarterfinal games Friday night ... Jeremiah Jackson leads the Owls against Rhea County Friday in a 5A quarterfinal playoff game.
