Jeff Black
Barking Legs Theater, located at 1307 Dodds Avenue, has long been known as a great listening room, with studio quality sound and attentive audiences. About all the theater has to do is bring in quality artists, which they consistently do, and it is an instant recipe for success. Thursday night, November 19th is no exception, as Jeff Black comes to entertain the crowd at 7:30 p.m.
Perhaps the best way to describe Jeff Black is to let an accomplished musician and fan do the work. Terryl Green says – “About ten years ago I standing at the entrance to Rhythm and Brews. The opening act had begun to play. As I was handing my money to the doorman, I recognized the song being performed. I heard it the first time a few weeks before when Sam Bush played an incredible set there. This song brought down the house and it was titled “Same ol’ River”…The musician playing the song was Jeff Black…from that day on, I became a big fan. His songs paint images that are forever planted in your soul. Every word perfectly placed in melodies that pull at the heart. Jeff’s songs have been covered by Sam Bush, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Jerry Douglas, Dierks Bentley, Waylon Jennings, Blackhawk and many more. What a honor it is to bring such a talent to Barking Legs.”
For those that have been to Barking Legs Theater before, you know how great the room is. For those that have not been before, here is all you need to know – It’s sound system and acoustics are similar to that of an expensive recording studio. The audience is attentive and respectful, but it is always fun. For 22 years, the Barking Legs Theater name has been synonymous with quality. You can check it out at www.barkinglegs.org.
