Anthony Davis, 24, was arrested on Thursday for aggravated child abuse after a two-year-old’s mother noticed that she had bruises on her left arm and right hip area.

The victim’s mother said that she received the girl from Davis and saw the bruises later in the day. She said that when she called Davis, he told her that the child had fallen while playing outside.

Investigators have not been able to contact Davis for a statement despite trying by telephone, friends, and in-person.

An officer also reported in court records that Davis has been avoiding his calls.

The victim remains in the care of her mother.

Davis is also being held for possession of a firearm during commission or attempt to commit a felony, possession of drugs for resale, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
